Department of Social Sciences

The department is multi-disciplinary comprising four subject areas. These are:

– Religious and Moral Education

– Environment and Social Studies

– Music and Dance

– HIV/AIDS Education

Religious and moral education and environment and social studies are basic foundation subjects taught in the basic schools. Music and dance is a practical activity subject intended to prepare the students for effective handling of the subject at the basic level. HIV/AIDS education is a general subject geared towards the student’s personal development.

About Us

Bia Lamplighter College of Education was started by the Church of Christ as an evolving cutting-edge center for teacher in-service training in the Bia West District in the Western North Region. This effort has been complimented and enhanced by the Government of Ghana through the absorption of this college along with four other new colleges of education as public institutions in 2015.
