BIA LAMPLIGHTER COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
The Pre- Vocational skills course is composed of sewing, catering and Art. The Course is however, broadly divided into two groups: Home Economics related Subjects and art related Subjects. At the beginning of the fourth (4th) Semester or Second Year, First (1st) Semester, students are required to select their elective subject as part of the requirement for the award of a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE). Elective Subjects offered in Home Economics include Sewing and Catering, whereas the Elective subject offered for Art is Bead Making. Pre- Vocational courses are mandatory for all level 100 (First year) students.
Pre- Vocational skills courses are taken by General classes.

Bia Lamplighter College of Education was started by the Church of Christ as an evolving cutting-edge center for teacher in-service training in the Bia West District in the Western North Region. This effort has been
complimented and enhanced by the Government of Ghana through the absorption of this college along with four other new colleges of education as public institutions in 2015.
